Reflective Writing My Personal Employability Skills

1. INTRODUCTION Reflective writing is evidence of reflective thinking, which is a beneficial learning tool as it allows me to critically think about my personal employability skills. This self-reflection mode of writing allows me to recognise and identify my current skills, strengths, weaknesses, progress and achievements. 2. TIME MANAGEMENT Time-management is one of my core academic and employability skills I possess. This skill allows me to prioritise effectively, which includes planning workloads, alongside arriving in a timely manner to places such as work or university. Planning my time for university workloads is a strength I have, as I am able to organise and prepare myself, to meet coursework deadlines within the time period†¦show more content†¦Figure 1: Gibbs Reflective Cycle (2017) I feel this was a good experience, as it has enabled me to develop and become more independent to further increase my skills, as being out of my comfort zone allows me to explore new depths, which allows me to push past my boundaries in the future, and embrace new changes and challenges. I was able to make friends easily by applying my interpersonal skills amongst others. This included joining societies as well as, using my communication skills during my seminar group work discussions, where I demonstrated my teamwork skills by co-operating with others during a shared task. Working with others is a vital skill, as I did not only collaborate with them, but learn from them by listening to their thoughts, as we all had diverse ideas and perspectives. This point leads back to my anxiety of interacting within a new environment, which allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and, associate with people from different backgrounds. Therefore, this was a learning curve experience, as I met new people in the same situation as myself, which made me feel more comfortable and at ease. Loneliness in Of Mice and Men The novel Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, takes place during the Great Depression era in the 1930s. Life changed dramatically from the thriving 1920s. Work was hard to find because of the bad economy, and everybody lived tough lives. It was even tougher for African Americans, women, and the elderly because they were all considered useless at the time. Everyone had no respect for them, and they were very low on the social pyramid. Due to their low status and respect, these people were very lonely and wanted companionship of others. Steinbeck depicts these problems through the lives of Crooks, Curley’s wife, and Candy, who are social pariahs on the ranch because of their physical conditions, and therefore,†¦show more content†¦This shows that Candy is very desperate for companionship. The crew of the 4 demigods in the Prophecy Seven venture out to Camp Jupiter, a Roman camp. They go there to find Percy, Frank, and Hazel the 3 other demigods for the prophecy. She has to follow the Mark of Athena to find and bring back something that the Romans stole from the Greeks that was dedicated to Athena. The catch is that she can only go alone. No help, no powers Just her smarts. Go with her as she unravels why so many children of Athena have never come back from trying to mind that holy figure that was taken by the Romans. Will the seven demigods make it in time to save Nice did Angelo? Will Amenable complete the mission that her mother sent her on, which nobody has ever came back successfully or have even survived? Will they stop the giants who imprisoned Nice? Read â€Å"The Mark of Athena† to find out because, I’m not telling you. My favorite character in this book is Amenable because; she goes through denial with her mother and gets the Job to follow the Mark of Athena. She is a very realistic teenager in America. Having a boyfriend and having problems with her mother. The only real difference between the seven demigods and real teenagers is that they have weapons, godly parent’s and powers according to their godly parent. I could only find one thing in this book that I didn’t like. It is that Rick put almost all of the bad luck on Percy and Amenable. All the other demigods just helped out and barely shared the bad luck except Leo. The rating I give to this book is 9. 99/10 only for the unjust distribution of bad luck.
